AA Cars: fifth of motorists planning on upgrading in next 12 months
One in five current motorists plan on upgrading their car in the next 12 months, a survey of AA members has found.
The survey, carried out in conjunction with polling company Populus, also found that 24% of people intended on upgrading their car in between 13 months and 24 months’ time.
David Bruce, director of AA Cars said: “An AA/Populus study of 16,165 AA members shows 20% of motorists will change their car during 2015 and only 5% of them opting for a new car which suggests a buoyant used car market this year.”
A second study of AA member, this time of 18,806 members found 31% of respondents had used an online used car sales platform to choose a car over the past 12 months.
Reflecting the increasing popularity on online platforms for buying cars, AA Cars revealed it exceeded 1m unique visitors in a single month for the first time in January, 18 months after it launched.
