MasterCard inks MoU with Egypt for cards and payments innovations
MasterCard has signed an MoU with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Egyptian Government.
MasterCard has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Egyptian Government to facilitate financial inclusion and maximize government efficiency.
Under the agreement, MasterCard will bring latest payment technology innovations and card acceptance services to the market helping the government increase engagement with citizens.
MasterCard will also collaborate with Egypt Post to digitalize its customer base and enable its 4,000 branches to offer electronic value-added-services, employee trainings and expert-driven workshops aiding its transition towards use and acceptance of mobile phones and credit cards for payments.
MasterCard CEO Ajay Banga said: “This partnership highlights our commitment to Egypt and its people. It’s crucial for us to join forces with governments around the world to accelerate positive change for citizens.”
