MasterCard launches multi-currency prepaid card mobile app in South Africa
Access Prepaid Worldwide has launched the MasterCard Multi-currency Cash Passport mobile app.
Access Prepaid Worldwide, a subsidiary of MasterCard, has launched the MasterCard Multi-currency Cash Passport mobile app enabling Multi-currency Cash Passport cardholders to manage their accounts from anywhere in the world.
The card allows travellers to lock-in the exchange rate for each of the four currencies including US Dollars, Great British Pounds, Euros, and Australian Dollars before loading the card while travelling.
MasterCard Multi-currency Cash Passport, which is issued by Travelex Card Services, permits the cardholder to use the card to pay for goods and services at millions of merchant locations or withdraw cash from ATMs wherever the MasterCard is accepted.
The app, that is available free of charge for Apple and Android platforms, will allow users to transfer money between purses, review transactions, and track their spending on their phone and will utilize the mobile phone’s GPS to inform users about location of the closest ATM.
Access Prepaid Worldwide’s regional director and general manager for the Middle East and Africa Rajeev Kumar said: “The application makes it convenient for users to keep control of their payments abroad, as it holds all the information that they need about their Multi-Currency Cash Passport.”
