Wincor Nixdorf launches cashless payments solution in Germany
Wincor Nixdorf has launched its hardware and software solution to facilitate cashless payment processing in the German market.
Wincor Nixdorf has launched its hardware and software solution for girocard transaction processing to facilitate cashless payment processing in the German market following the approval of the German Banking Industry Committee (GBIC).
The company, which is managing a project to standardize payment systems, will pilot the solution at the German service stations of a multinational oil and gas company.
The solution will connect card terminals at the service stations directly with a central server, the Aevi Pay platform, at Wincor Nixdorf where the data will be processed and forwarded to various card acquirers, eliminating the need for each service station to operate its own server.
Wincor Nixdorf general manager of sales and operations, cashless payment solutions Marc Birkner said: “With this approval, we can begin immediately to offer a solution for cashless payment transactions on the German market, which is a sizable and important market.
“For our Cashless Payment Solutions business unit, which was only established in 2013, this is another important step toward the internationalization of our business.”
