The new stickers are user-friendly and will provide security and convenience for customers who do not have NFC-compatible phones.

The customers need to fix the sticker to their phone, following which, it will transform into a payment support. It is considered to be fully secured as it is based on EMV technology.

In order to make a payment, users must wave their phone in front of a contactless terminal, the company said.

OT provides issuers and their customers with a guide of recommended sticker locations for the most common handsets (top, bottom, vertical, horizontal).

OT managing director of the payment business unit Eric Duforest said: “This is one of OT’s ultimate wearable solutions offering flexibility to end-users who do not have NFC-compatible phones.”

The company’s contactless payment sticker will be used by customers such as banks, prepaid issuers and MNOs (launching companion cards to mobile wallets) and can also host transport applications.
