Samsung to launch mobile payments service to China and Europe
Samsung is planning to expand its mobile payments service Samsung Pay to other markets such as China, Europe, Australia and South America.
The move follows the company’s plans to launch Samsung Pay in the US and South Korea in September this year when it launches the next flagship smartphone model.
The launch of Samsung Pay, which was slated in July this year, has been delayed to September. The service, for which Samsung partnered with MasterCard and Visa, was initially announced in March in conjunction with the company’s Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones launch.
Samsung executive vice president Rhee Injong said that the company plans to have around 15 to 20% of its smartphone users to utilize its payment platform.
