Gemalto receives MasterCard certification for cloud-based payment
Digital security provider Gemalto has secured MasterCard certification for a complete cloud-based payment (CBP) solution
The approval, which is a first for a mobile payment vendor, has been granted after extensive functional evaluation and security testing.
The CBP solution forms part of Gemalto’s Allynis Trusted Services Hub offering. The certification covers the company’s CBP server platforms and payment software operating on mobile devices of cardholders.
The certified components include the Account Enablement System (AES), Credentials Management System (CMS), Transaction Management System (TMS) as well as Mobile Payment Application (MPA).
Gemalto senior vice president of mobile financial services Jean-Claude Deturche said: “The consumer lifestyle is increasingly defined by the ubiquitous smart phones and tablets and there’s an ever-growing appetite for secure mobile payment.
“Gemalto’s MasterCard-approved suite of Cloud-based payment solutions opens another flexible and highly efficient route into this fast-growing market, securely located under the broad umbrella of our proven Trusted Services Hub, the Allynis TSH.”
Earlier in December 2015, Gemalto had also received approval for its SafeNet Luna EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) Payment HSM (Hardware Security Module).
