Visa makes Visa Checkout service more mobile-friendly
Visa has introduced a new interactive button for its Visa Checkout digital payments service.
Visa has introduced a new interactive button for its Visa Checkout digital payments service that will allow e-shoppers to complete their transactions by sliding a virtual image of credit, debit or prepaid card across the screen of a smartphone, tablet or laptop.
Launched in 2014, Visa Checkout earlier required customers to enter their username and password to complete a transaction, but now users can see a picture of their card on the Visa Checkout button, swipes it to the right, and enter their password to make payment.
Visa in a statement said that the button is available worldwide to businesses selling digital goods and services – such as music, movies, airline seats, and tickets – or items that customers purchase online and pick up in a physical store.
The service will be extended to businesses that ship goods over the next few months, the company added.
Visa digital solutions SVP Sam Shrauger said: “This new experience brings digital payments one step closer to the ease, trust and familiarity that consumers have long valued from Visa in the physical world.
“This design-led innovation is proven to increase conversion, helping merchants reach new customers — especially millennials, who are increasingly using their mobile devices to make purchases.”
