Barclaycard opens new call centre in Ohio
Barclaycard, the payments arm of Barclays in the US, has opened a new call centre in Hamilton, Ohio bringing nearly 1,500 full-time jobs.
The new office is located at Vora Technology Park on Knightsbridge Drive, and the company has spent about $10m to retrofit the office space.
Speaking at opening ceremony, Barclaycard U.S. CEO Curt Hess said that selecting Hamilton as location for new center was one of the first decisions taken when he started leading the firm in 2015.
Hess said: “What made it simple for me was the skilled labor market, quality real estate and infrastructure and the welcoming business climate at state, regional and local levels.”
The company creates customized, co-branded credit card programs for travel, entertainment, retail, affinity and financial institutions. It also issues its own Barclaycard branded credit cards, namely Barclaycard Rewards, Barclaycard Ring, and Barclaycard CashForward.
