MasterCard brings Masterpass-enabled bots to Facebook
MasterCard has rolled out Masterpass-enabled bots.
MasterCard has rolled out Masterpass-enabled bots to provide enhanced shopping experience on Facebook Messenger platform with FreshDirect, Subway and The Cheesecake Factory.
Now, the users can use MasterPass to complete transactions through these apps, without entering their critical credit card information directly into the chat windows.
Powered by artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, the bots allow consumers to interact with the merchant brands, place their order and securely checkout through Masterpass, all without leaving the Facebook Messenger platform.
The bots, which will also support all Masterpass-enabled wallets from banks including Citi and Capital One, work across multiple verticals from restaurants to retail.
MasterCard chief innovation officer Garry Lyons said: “The MasterCard vision is to support all forms of commerce – addressing the full range of merchant experiences and consumer needs, and ensuring that every one of our accounts is as digital as the people using them.
“Masterpass-enabled bots on Messenger offer both merchants and consumers innovative, compelling and secure digital payments on an extremely popular and active platform.”
