Dublin also houses the payments provider’s European headquarters, which currently employs 100 people.

The firm plans to hire a “few dozens” of backend/API engineers, full-stack engineers and engineering managers for the new hub over the coming few years. The company will also hire a European head of engineering to spearhead the Dublin team.

The firm also plans to increase investment in the new engineering hub over the next few years.

The team at the Dublin hub will work on the firm’s core payments product.

Few weeks back, the company decided to withdraw support from bitcoin citing the cryptocurrency’s diminishing demand.

Stripe was founded in 2010 by Patrick and John Collison. The company currently operates in 25 countries and has 900 employees.
