US-based payments solution provider Flite Banking Centers has launched a new mobile application SnapCheck for mobile check deposit services in a bid to expand its core business of ATM-based products and services.

Managing the Check 21-compliant packaging and consolidation of deposits, the SnapCheck app will deliver necessary images and files directly to the financial institutions’ processing platform, reported Mobile Payments Today.

Flite president Michael Villarreal told the news agency that the mobile check deposit is an increasingly important technology for financial institutions to offer to their customers.

"Due to high costs and significant IT resources, mobile deposit services are primarily being offered by large financial institutions. SnapCheck was designed to be a cost-effective solution to help banks and credit unions of all sizes deliver this smartphone deposit technology as economically and efficiently as possible," added Villarreal.

SnapCheck also has a feature that allows subscribing institutions to customize the look and feel of their own brand, and create a user experience consistent with other banking services provided by the customer’s financial institutions.
