CardFlight, a mobile POS technology provider, has collaborated with Apple to deploy latter’s Touch ID technology into CardFlight’s SwipeSimple mobile payments application.
SwipeSimple app was introduced earlier in 2014 as a solution to provide a mobile point-of-sale to merchants including credit card processors, merchant service providers, ISOs, agents and other resellers.
Featuring smartphone and tablet applications, the SwipeSimple enables merchants to accept credit card payments using their mobile devices.
The launch of Apple’s iOS 8 scheduled for 2014 fall will see merchants logging in to the SwipeSimple application using their fingerprint and Apple’s Touch ID technology, with CardFlight working towards upgrading its applications to support the new technology following the launch of iOS 8.
CardFlight founder and CEO Derek Webster said: "The proliferation of tablets and smartphones is rapidly changing the payments industry. We’re proud to be at the forefront of that shift in bringing new and innovative mobile payment technologies to market."
