PayPal, owned by eBay, is rolling out two new features – Pay At Table and Order Ahead – for its iOS and Android mobile apps in the UK, allowing customers to order food before reaching the restaurant.

With the help of the new service, users can pay for their order through a four-digit code, without the need for a payment card.

Both Pay At Table and Order Ahead were originally introduced in the US last year.

PayPal UK retail services head, Rob Harper, told TechCrunch that the rollout will kick off a wider push of the services across Europe in the near future.

In addition to Europe, the two new features may also be introduced in Australia.

Meanwhile, PayPal is also planning to extend its working capital programme for small business clients indefinitely after a three-month trial in the US.
