Mobetize signs letter of intent to provide money remittance services

Mobetize has signed a letter of intent with what it says is one of the world's largest money transfer operators to allow its customers to make mobile money transfers overseas.

Mobetize has signed a letter of intent with what it says is one of the world’s largest money transfer operators to allow its customers to make mobile money transfers overseas.

Mobetize, a mobile commerce payment technology provider, will partner with the money transfer operator to provide money remittance services in USA and Canada using their mobile smartRemit product for telecoms.

Once completed, customers in the USA and Canada will be able to make mobile transfers to more than 150 countries worldwide.

The Mobetize integrated software suite is designed for telecom operators, mobile network operator’s and mobile virtual network operator’s.

The company’s Mobile Super Wallet product enables telecom companies to integrate and offer mobile financial services with their existing telecom product offerings.

Mobetize say their smartRemit product is key to the company’s strategy to deliver a suite of mobile financial services to telecom companies.

Ajay Hans, CEO of Mobetize, said: "We view this letter of intent as an endorsement of our global mobile money remittance capabilities.
