Getin Bank launches first self-service VTM branches in Poland

Poland-based Getin Bank has completed the first installation of self-service VTM branches, also known as Getin Point, in the country, as part of its plan to offer innovative banking experiences to customers.

Poland-based Getin Bank has completed the first installation of self-service VTM branches, also known as Getin Point, in the country, as part of its plan to offer innovative banking experiences to customers.

The new self-service VTM branches, which enable customers to carry out their financial transaction similar to traditional bank branches, have been developed by Getin Noble Bank in collaboration with two technology firms Hitachi Europe and Wincor Nixdorf.

Apart from opening new accounts and instant issuance of payment cards, VTM offers support for cash, payment of bills, setting up deposits, making transfers from the account.

Additionally, customers can request for support of bank’s consultants through video-conference round the clock.

In order to provide full proof security, Getin Bank’s VTM is equipped with finger vein biometric authentication for instant card issuance.

It also has a security feature such as identification document scanner that enables the consultant to authenticate whether the customer ID card is valid.

Hitachi Europe information systems group Central Eastern Europe regional director, Tadeusz Woszczyński, said, "Together with our partner in Poland we are introducing the most innovative solutions in Europe, and the VTM is another fruit of this cooperation.

"The VTM project is also another step towards the establishment of Finger Vein biometrics as a standard solution in the Polish banking sector."
