Blackhawk to partner T-Mobile's Prepaid Card

T-Mobile's Visa Prepaid Card and new smartphone app "Mobile Money" will be powered by Blackhawk Network's California affiliate.

T-Mobile’s Visa Prepaid Card and new smartphone app "Mobile Money" will be powered by Blackhawk Network’s California affiliate.

Mobile Money is an e-wallet that can be managed from a smartphone and will become available in February 2014.

On its own the application allows easy access to view the details of the customers T-Mobile account, but through it customers can also enroll for a the T-Mobile Visa pre-paid card.

The card when used in conjunction with the app allows cardholders to access more sophisticated functions, such as remote deposit check capture through their phone’s camera, bill pay across other accounts and online shopping.

Through its network of content providers and points of retail distribution Blackhawk is a large third party providers of prepaid cards and payment solutions to consumers. Its partners include Starbucks and Coinstar.

Blackhawk Network President Talbott Roche said in a press release: "With Mobile Money by T-Mobile, it’s easier than ever for consumers to manage their spending all from their mobile device while creating additional opportunities for engagement and future purchases for our retail partners."
