Pakistan-based Faysal Bank has implemented SunGard’s core banking solution, Ambit.

Faysal Bank, which has corporate, commercial, retail and Islamic banking operations, says it will profit from SunGard’s solution to drive operational and cost efficiencies, optimise profitability and support future growth.

Naved Khan, president & CEO at Faysal Bank said: " Having worked with SunGard for almost a decade, we have first-hand experience of the company’s solutions and services strengths."

Faysal Bank needed to upgrade its core banking infrastructure in order to support its growing network of more than 265 branches and the future expansion plans, especially after its acquisition of RBS Pakistan in June 2010.

Jochen Schneider, chief operating officer at SunGard’s retail banking business said: "With external drivers of change continuing to place higher demands on banks globally, renovation of core banking systems is becoming a pre-requisite to future profitability strategies.

"SunGard is committed to helping banks like Faysal Bank build future proofed core banking architectures that deliver the scale and technological excellence to help drive successful, sustainable performance."
