CorFire announces partnership with Wirecard over NFC m-payments

CorFire has announced a partnership with Wirecard for NFC m-payment support, allowing allows mobile apps to support NFC secure services such as Visa payWave.

CorFire has announced a partnership with Wirecard for NFC m-payment support, allowing allows mobile apps to support NFC secure services such as Visa payWave.

According to CorFire the move will make NFC mobile payments more widely available across Europe.

CorFire is intending to draw on Wirecard’s experience in providing support to companies in accepting electronic payments from all sales channels.

In addition, Wirecard has launched its own Trusted Service Manager (TSM) using CorFire’s CorTSM product to enable NFC payment for its Visa stored value account products.

Jae Chung, president and CEO of CorFire, said: "Aligning with Wirecard is another example of our commitment to accelerating the adoption of mobile payments."

The mobile commerce company’s last major deal was in November 2012, when British telecommunications company Vodafone had announced a partnership with CorFire aimed at endowing Vodafone users’ smartphones with NFC-powered mobile wallet capabilities.
