NXT-ID, a biometric authentication company, will manufacture Wocket smart wallets in the US, thereby boosting its presence in the developing m-commerce market.
Equipped with first-of-its-kind biometric and identity protection technologies, Wockets are expected to ship to consumers in September this year.
NXT-ID CEO Gino Pereira said, “July is an appropriate time to announce that Wocket will be made in the USA. With most tech companies manufacturing overseas for reasons of economy, we are proud to announce that we will be partnering with MC Assembly to manufacture our biometric smart wallet in Melbourne, Florida.”
“We hope to create a win-win situation where we can offer consumers superior product and help to create jobs in the local economy,” Pereira added.
NXT-ID has chosen MC Assembly as its manufacturing partner, which has operations in Winchester, Massachusetts, Palm Bay Florida and Zacatecas, Mexico.
Designed to protect users’ identities, Wocket is a next generation smart wallet which will replace all the cards in a customer’s wallet, with no smartphone required. The Wocket can be used anywhere that credit cards are accepted, and only requires a biometric stamp of approval.
Any card, including credit, debit, ATM, loyalty, gift, ID, membership, insurance, ticket, emergency, medical, business, contacts, coupon, can be protected on Wocket.
