Globe Charge partners with VISA to expand payment options

Globe Charge, mobile payment card reader and mobile application teamed up with Visa to expand payment options for its clients.

Globe Charge, Globe Telecom’s mobile payment card reader and mobile application teamed up with Visa to expand payment options for its clients.

The partnership will enable Globe Charge merchants to accept Visa credit and debit card payments on their iOS and Android-powered smartphones and tablets without using any traditional payment card terminal.

Globe Charge can transform any Android and iOS devices into a point-of-sale (PoS) payment card terminal, thereby allowing business owners to create their merchant accounts, activate their smartphones and tablets, and create accounts for their employees.

In addition, they can also use the Globe Charge Mobile Card Reader – the device plugged into the audio jack of supported smartphones and tablets – to read MasterCard and Visa cards.

G-Xchange president Paolo Baltao said: “We partnered with Visa to provide more payment options for small and medium enterprises using Globe Charge, effectively growing their customer base, and in the long run, their businesses.

“With a mobile phone, SMEs can facilitate payment transactions from Visa cardholders without the need for a traditional credit card facility.

“With Globe Charge, enterprises can change the way they do business, enabling them to provide an easier, faster and safer payment solution for their clients using the latest mobile technologies,.”

To use Globe Charge, a merchant needs to have Android or iOS device, a Globe or TM SIM card with a GCash account, the Globe Charge Mobile Card Reader; and the Globe Charge mobile app, downloadable from Google Play or the App Store.
